Since I reviewed this property one year ago, many of my observations remain the same. Overall, I’ve found it to be a great value among luxury properties on the Strip in Las Vegas, particularly if you find savings by booking via Hotwire (and presumably Priceline as well, though I haven’t used that booking agent). While it is a bit removed from a lot of the action on the Strip, being far on the North end, if you have a rental car and learn some of the tricks about driving around the Strip, it works out well enough. I would not recommend coming from the airport via the Strip in busy times (which is most of the time) as it can take 30-40 minutes – better to take alternate routes and come in from the side.
The hotel offers free valet-only parking. It is also adjacent to the Fashion Show Mall (the entrance via Macy’s is literally across the street from the Trump entrance/lobby). I valeted for one of my stays and found it to take longer than what you might expect, and cars get backed up and trap you in. I found it easier to park in the area to the right of Nordstrom’s across the street for free.
The building itself is attractive, in a gaudy, Las Vegas kind of way. The lobby is nicely appointed, but not terribly large or grand.
Check-in is smooth and quick, and the front desk area has always been well-staffed during my check ins. I have a sense that they must have cameras out of sight, as front desk workers seem to appear almost instantly as people come up to the desk area, so the lack of waiting is a nice touch.
With my latest visit, I stayed in one of the larger corner suites on a higher level, which is quite huge with multiple bathrooms, a full kitchen with all appliances, a family room, and separate bedroom. The master bathroom was huge, with a large soaking tub overlooking the Strip.
As always, the room felt very clean and “new”. It is a 100% non-smoking property, so that is appreciated in Las Vegas. Very spacious with lots of storage.
This room had views out multiple windows, and being a corner room, offered great perspectives across much of the surrounding area. Unfortunately, the (in my opinion) ugly gold tint makes the view lesser than it should be.
In all of my stays, cell phone coverage (via AT&T) is nearly non-existent… so it is a bit inconvenient to have to leave the property to make or receive a call via my cell phone. I would rate this property 4.5/5 if I had reliable cell phone coverage, so I see that as the biggest detriment.
Be aware also that there is train noise depending on where your room is located in the property.
The room includes Internet access at no additional charge (included in resort fee). There is WiFi, but also an ethernet port (they will loan you an ethernet cable upon request). As mentioned in my prior review, I was blown away at how fast the Internet connection is via the wired connection in the room. Videos that usually take 30-60 minutes to upload on a good Internet connection, upload in less than 10 minutes at the Trump. I travel a lot for concerts and usually upload videos from my hotel room, and I can say that the Trump has the fastest Internet connection of any hotel I’ve ever stayed in, hands down. Some hotels (especially in England and France), the same size file would take over 8 hours to upload.
This is a non-casino hotel, so there is no gaming, and really not much of anything on the main floor of the hotel apart from a little shopping, bar, and eating area.
Below are photos I took of the resort and the room I stayed in:
